Mission
To develop and act as the core facility in fostering growth of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the faculty and students of Zeal Education Society and to promote entrepreneurial culture in the college
Objectives
- To act as central facility for providing various services including information on all aspects of enterprise building to budding entrepreneurs of Zeal Education Society.
- To create Entrepreneurial culture in Zeal Education Society and other institutions in the region.
- To inculcate a culture of innovation driven entrepreneurship through student projects.
- To catalyze and promote development of S&T knowledge-based enterprises and promote employment opportunities in the innovative areas.
- To assist prospective entrepreneurs in preparation of project reports.
- To provide incubation facility to student entrepreneurs
Founder
Zeal Entrepreneurship Development Cell has been established and working under the auspices of Shri. S.M. Katkar, who has also founded Zeal Education Society to propagate elementary to professional education with a special focus on building indigenous knowledge and independent employability skills. Since its inception of Zeal Education Society, our Founder Director has time and again exhorted the trustees of the Society, faculty members of the affiliated institutions, and the student community about the importance of self-sufficiency in career planning.
Thanks to the shrinking job opportunities, increasing entrepreneurial opportunities, and more conducive environmental changes, the thought process on shaping a working model of Zeal Entrepreneurship Development Cell started a year back. After relentless follow up, and conviction of Prof. Jayesh Katkar, the dream of our founder was materialized on 2nd March, 2013. Mr. Pramod Choudahry, Chairman, PRAJ Group, Dr. E. B. Khedkar, Dean, Management Studies, University of Pune, Dr. Rajendra Hiremath, Director-Finance & Administration, Raj Group, inaugurated the cell.
Dr. Sanjay Gaikwad
Head ED Cell
He is one of the founding members of Zeal Education Society. Currently working as a Professor at the campus, he has a vast experience of teaching at and administering the academic institutes. He is a PhD in Finance, and has several research papers presented and published to his credit. He is looked upon as a troubleshooter by students and colleagues whenever there are issues related to finance management related subjects. Sir has also been instrumental in motivating the concerned staff and students in consistently working for ZEDC.
Dr. Sanjay Gaikwad, Director, Zeal Institute of Management & Computer Application, Pune.
He is currently serving as Assistance Professor Zeal Institute of Management and Computer Application. He is carrying many responsibilities in Institute. He has knowledge of project planning in different field. Many activities are chalked out in the upcoming schedule of ZEDC, due to his active involvement and guidance. He has also presented and published many research papers on different areas of management studies. Currently he is doing his doctoral research work in from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded

Entrepreneurship Awards
Zeal Education Society identifies and felicitates such first generation entrepreneurs who are involved in developing local enterprises, business models, and skill sets thereby creating employment opportunities.
Shri. Sharadkishna Thakare, Managing Director, Laxmi Hydraulics Pvt Ltd, Solapur.was felicitated at the hands of Prof. Jayesh Katkar, Executive Director, Zeal Education Society, and Pune, also conferred with the “Successful First Generation Entrepreneurship” award on 24th February, 2016.
Mr. Ashok Khade, Director, DAS Offshore was felicitated at the hands of Shri. S.T. Poman and also conferred with the “Successful First Generation Entrepreneurship” award on 12th March, 2015.
Mr. Pramod Choudhari, Founder Chairman, Praj Group was felicitated at the hands of Shri. S. M. Katkar and also conferred with the “Successful First Generation Entrepreneurship” award on 2nd March, 2013.
Mr. Pandurang Shinde, Founder MD, Cyclo Group, Satara, was felicitated at the hands of Shri. S. M. Katkar and also conferred with the “Successful First Generation Entrepreneurship” award on 10th March, 2012.
